Common issues and fixes

The handful of things most users hit in their first week, and how to resolve them.

"Confirmation email never arrived"

After signing up, Sageon emails a link to verify your address. If it doesn't show up:

  1. Check your spam folder — first stop for most cases
  2. Wait 2 minutes — occasionally the email queue is slow
  3. Resend — go to the login page and click "Resend confirmation"
  4. Wrong email? — sign up again with the correct address

If you're an admin and a colleague isn't getting their team invite email from hello@sageon.co.uk:

  1. Ask them to check spam / junk.
  2. Look at the "Recently sent" card in Settings → Team — green tick means we delivered it to the inbox provider; amber means it failed and the reason is shown.
  3. Whatever the state, the invite URL is on the card — copy it and send it directly via Slack / Teams / SMS as a fallback.
  4. If the address was wrong, delete the pending invite and re-send to the correct email.

"Can't see a section in the sidebar"

Three possible causes:

  1. Module is disabled — your admin may have turned off that module in Settings → Modules
  2. Your role doesn't have access — check Settings → Permissions if you're admin, or ask your admin
  3. Browser cache — try a hard refresh (Cmd+Shift+R on Mac, Ctrl+Shift+R on Windows)

"Page keeps redirecting me back to login"

If clicking around the app keeps bouncing you to the login page:

  1. Cookie blocking — make sure third-party cookies are allowed for sageon.co.uk
  2. VPN / proxy — try disabling temporarily, some networks block auth flows
  3. Stale session — log out completely (top-right menu → Sign out), close all Sageon tabs, log back in

If the bounce is to /pricing specifically: your organisation's subscription has lapsed or hasn't been activated. Go to Settings → Billing.

"I subscribed but I'm still locked out"

Stripe payments and Sageon subscriptions sync via a webhook. Usually instant, occasionally there's a 1-2 minute lag. If it's been more than 5 minutes:

  1. Refresh the page
  2. Settings → Billing — does it show your active plan? If yes, the sidebar will unlock on next refresh.
  3. No? Email blake@sageon.co.uk with the email address you signed up with — we'll resync manually within a few hours.

"Sage says daily limit reached"

You get 20 messages per day to Sage, resetting at midnight (UK time).

If you've hit the cap:

  • Look at the help centre (you're in it) for answers Sage would have given
  • Ask a colleague to ask Sage for you — limits are per-user, not per-org
  • Come back tomorrow

"Sage created the wrong thing"

When Sage proposes an action, it always shows a confirmation card before writing. If you accidentally confirmed something wrong:

  • For RAID items, decisions, milestones — open the record in the normal UI and delete it
  • For project RAG updates — set it back to the right colour
  • For CRM opportunities/bids — same: delete via the CRM UI

Sage doesn't have a "undo" command yet (on the roadmap).

"Search returns no results when I know it exists"

Sageon's search is organisation-scoped — you'll only see records from your org, regardless of role. If you're an Admin and still can't find something:

  1. Try a shorter search term (the matcher prefers prefix matches)
  2. Check the trash (some modules) — record may have been deleted
  3. Check the module is enabled — if HR is disabled, HR records won't appear in search
