Tally overview
Tally is Sageon Business's timesheet + resource management module — log time, plan bookings, approve hours.
What's in Tally
- Time entry — log hours against projects and tasks
- Resource bookings — plan who works on what
- Approvals — line manager workflow for submitted timesheets
- Reports — utilisation, capacity, billable vs non-billable
How it fits with the rest of Sageon Business
| Tally | Source / target |
|---|---|
| Time logged | Feeds project Actuals + EVM |
| Bookings | Drive project Resource page |
| Utilisation % | Surfaces on HR Analytics |
So your timesheet entry on Customer Portal v2 flows automatically into:
- That project's Actuals (and CPI calculation)
- Your personal utilisation %
- The org-level resource view
Who needs to use Tally
- Everyone — if you're tracking project profitability
- Billable roles only — if you're only tracking customer-billed time
- Nobody — if you don't need granular time data (turn the module off via Settings → Modules)
Privacy
Each person sees only their own time entries by default. Line managers see direct reports. Project managers see all time logged on their projects. Admins see everything.
Tips
- Daily > weekly. Logging time at the end of the week relies on memory and is inaccurate.
- Bookings ≠ time. A booking is the plan; time is the reality. Both matter.
