Sage actions — creating records via chat

How actions work end-to-end

  1. You ask Sage in natural English
  2. Sage asks for any missing required fields
  3. Sage drafts a confirmation card with the proposed record
  4. You click Confirm or Cancel
  5. Sage executes only after confirm; never automatically

Example conversations

Risk:

"Log a high-impact risk on Customer Portal: supplier may miss UAT. Owner Sarah. Mitigation: source backup supplier by Friday. Target end of June."

Stage move:

"Move Cabinet Office Zero Trust to negotiation"

Bid conversion:

"Convert the Cabinet Office opportunity to a bid, planned for July"

Multi-step:

"Add a milestone to Mobile App: UAT sign-off, 30 June" → confirm → "Now log a risk on the same project: supplier may slip" → confirm

What Sage won't do

  • Delete records (use the UI)
  • Bulk operations ("set all amber to red" — one at a time)
  • Send emails on your behalf
  • See data outside your organisation
