Common analyses
- Attrition rate — leavers in last 12 months / average headcount. Above 15% is high; investigate.
- Hiring funnel (if integrated with ATS) — applicants → interviews → offers → starts.
- Comp distribution — salary spread per band (admin only).
- Diversity stats (where captured) — gender / ethnicity / age splits, with care for small-cohort anonymity.
Tips
- Look at trends, not snapshots. A single number is meaningless without 12 months of context.
- Slice by manager. Attrition is rarely uniform — it clusters around specific managers.
- Anonymise small cohorts. Departments with <5 people should be hidden from cross-tab views.
