Training and learning

Training in Tribe covers two things: mandatory training (compliance modules — fire safety, GDPR etc.) and assigned training (skills development for specific people).

Mandatory training

Pre-loaded — see Compliance and mandatory training for the 7 default modules.

Assigned training

Beyond mandatory, you can assign optional training modules:

  • Tribe → Training → + New module (admin)
  • Or assign existing modules to people via their profile

Each module captures:

  • Title + description
  • Content sections (text or video links)
  • Quiz questions (optional)
  • Pass score
  • Refresh interval

Tracking

Tribe Training dashboard shows:

  • Total assigned
  • Completed count
  • In progress
  • Overdue
  • Pass rate

Per-module: completion rate across all assigned people.

Linking training to development plans

Training modules can be tagged to skills. Completing a relevant module updates the assigned skill's proficiency on the skills matrix.

Tips

  • Don't make everything mandatory. Mandatory = legal must-do. Everything else is assigned with a clear rationale.
  • Use external content. You don't need to write everything in-house. Modules can link to YouTube, LinkedIn Learning, GOV.UK guidance.
  • Refresh intervals matter. Annual refresh for legal stuff; one-time for soft-skills modules.
