People records
A "person" in Tribe is an employee record — name, role, contact details, department, compensation, performance, training. Each person has their own profile page.
Add an employee
Tribe → People → + Add employee:
- Personal — name, email, phone, address
- Employment — start date, employment type (permanent/contract/intern), FTE %, department, position
- Reporting line — line manager (picks from existing people)
- Compensation (admin only) — salary, band, benefits
- Right to work — visa status, document references
Most fields are optional after the core ones (name + start date + position).
Linking an employee to a Sageon login
Employees ≠ Sageon users by default. To give someone in-product access:
- Open their employee page → Invite to Sageon button
- Pick the role they should have
- They receive an invite link
The HR employee record and the Sageon user are linked, so timesheet entries, project bookings and HR data stay joined up.
Employee profile tabs
- Overview — personal + employment summary
- Skills — competency map
- Leave — balances + history
- Training — assigned + completed modules
- Compensation — salary history, benefits (admin only)
- Performance — appraisals, objectives
- Documents — contracts, certifications, ID
- Audit log — every change to this record

Tips
- Set the reporting line. Org chart and leave-approval workflows depend on it.
- Use FTE %, not absolute hours. 1 FTE = your standard working week.
- Mark leavers as inactive, don't delete. Historical records (timesheets, project bookings) need the person to remain.
